Its a new year, 2014, and that means New Year Resolutions. A lot of people have trouble sticking to all of these big plans and dreams for the new year. So here I am going to write about my New Year Resolutions and some of my tips and tricks on how to stick to your plans and finally reach that goal of yours. No matter how big or small your goal is, you can do it, you just need to pace yourself and sometimes if the plans are lengthy its okay for it to extend into the next year.
My new years resolution: To get fit and healthy. To help my blog grow and expand the audience.
A lot of people pick getting fit and healthy as one, but it can be a tough one to stick to. So here are some ways you can help:
1) Write/blog about it. Nowadays it isn’t so hard to let people know what you’re up to, whether its a status update on Facebook or a picture post on Instagram. You can let your friends/family and followers know about plans and be sure to write about your goal or post a simple picture update to keep you excited about what you’re doing. Sometimes if you forget, someone may just comment something to remind you! Its also extremely beneficial to not just write and blog about it yourself but to also follow other people who have similar goals as you, this way everyone can keep each other in check. (Its like the buddy system!)
2) Put up reminders. Something as simple as writing a short reminder to yourself on a post-it note in your room, or in the car and even a timed reminder on your smartphone. This makes it a little bit harder to just wave matters off and say “tomorrow” (which you shouldn’t do because its a deadly cycle).
3) Make it a habit. Everyone has a habit, whether its good or bad. You just need to make your plans a part of your habit and fit it into your lifestyle. According to researchers, it take roughly 21-28 days to make something a habit. Try your best to push through those 21-28 days and from there, it should come naturally to you.
I hope my tips were helpful and I wish you the best for your New Year!
